So one day I had this idea…
That I could change the world, one happy home at a time.
But I was burnt out doing in-person projects through COVID-19; I almost lost my spark. Project budgets were dwindling, and supplies were limited. I knew I had to adapt! But before all that, I officially started my journey to interior design in 2017 when I took my first classes through the New York Institute of Design. Then, I learned what was happening with online education in interior design. Large companies were giving out “certificates” for lame courses and not offering students any support whatsoever, not to mention charging over a thousand dollars per course. I knew I could take my passion, experience, and background and turn it into a tool that works and won’t break the bank, starting in my own community of Sacramento, CA. My passion is to help people struggling with their space turn it into something they look forward to that supports them and feels personal. What started as just an idea has become my full-time dream. Where We’re At Today:
We’re serious about helping our community first. We’ve launched several free resources for Sacramento, CA, to help our friends and neighbors find what they need while supporting our small businesses that make our city so unique. We even have a class all about style to help you or your customers shop more confidently.
So far, we’ve launched many free resources for our community and, and we have more on the way!
Where We’re Headed:
We have a vision to expand our BHYH community across every city. Imagine having a BHYH in Austin, TX, Boston, MA, Caldwell, ID, and every other town, where locals can access all the resources they need for home décor and design events, stores, and education. Ugh, It would be amazing! But first, we need to wrap up these three classes!
After that, we plan to collaborate with small businesses and self-made designers who want to bring their content to a single resource in their city. It would be like Craigslist but for home and decor! IDK, it sounded cool when I thought of it.
